How to Make Partner - What have you delegated this week?

Hi Reader

Have you delegated any work this week? Don't forget that one of the key reasons that learning to delegate is so important is that it will give you time to work on areas that will help your career.

If you are going to expand the amount of time you have to build your practice, you will need to learn to delegate well to more junior staff.

This means, delegating the lower value tasks that you don’t need to do to others. It means, delegating authority as well as tasks (so that they don’t need to come to for decisions or for signing off).

Remember - You don’t have to do everything yourself. You have a team for a reason, so use them. Use them to support you while you spend some of your time on the valuable tasks that will progress your career.

Once you are delegating, it's time to start thinking - What am I going to do and how am I going to do it?’ and, even more importantly, ask yourself, ‘What should I truly be doing on a day to day basis?’

That is the level of planning that will lead you ultimately to results. If you don’t make a daily efforts on the things that will help move your career forward and build your partner-ready we want.
